Freeze-drying (lyophilization) is a technique that can create porosity in solids. The instrument first freezes polymeric solutions and then, under low pressure and high vacuum, sublimes the frozen solvent. As such, we develop scaffolds from various materials with different pore size, shape and density for 3D cell culture and electronic devices.
