Research Interests

Johana aims to conjugate electronic platforms with biological systems for monitoring and studying molecular and cellular processes. She focuses on using electrical platforms to study the effect of cancer-derived extracellular vesicles on epithelial and stem cell transformation towards malignant phenotypes, on conjugation of Supported Lipid Bilayers (SLB) with electrical platforms to study molecular processes at the cell membrane level, and in general, on biological applications of electric and sensing systems developed in the group.
